Northeast B.C. Rig Report - November 28

Eleven drilling rigs remained at work this week in Northeast B.C.

One-quarter of the region's fleet is active this week, according to Rig Locator, with producers focused in the Briar Ridge and Town areas.

  • Ensign 45 is drilling for gas for Encana at Briar Ridge. Spud was Nov. 24.

  • Ensign 49 is drilling for gas for Encana at Tower Lake. Spud was Nov. 28.

  • Ensign 55 is drilling for gas for Encana at Briar Ridge. Spud was Nov. 20.

  • Horizon 41 is drilling for gas for Encana at Briar Ridge. Spud was Nov. 22.

  • Horizon 55 is drilling for gas for Kelt Exploration at Inga. Spud was Nov. 20.

  • Nabors 120 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Town. Spud was Nov. 27.

  • Precision 538 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Sunrise. Spud was Nov. 26.

  • Precision 542 is drilling for gas for ARC Resources at Parkland. Spud was Nov. 21.

  • Precision 544 is drilling for gas for Petronas at Town. Spud was Nov. 24.

  • Precision 546 is drilling for gas for Tourmaline at Town. Spud was Nov. 26.

  • Precision 867 is drilling for gas for ConocoPhillips at Blueberry. Spud was Nov. 14.

Across Western Canada, 154 rigs are at work, up from 138 last week.

Alberta has 101 rigs working, up 11; Saskatchewan has 37 rigs working, up five.

Five rigs are active in Manitoba.

There were 204 rigs at work in Canada this time last year. 

Data from RigLocator is compiled twice daily based on reports from the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors.
