Emera appoints new vice-president, announces changes to executive leadership

HALIFAX - The president of Emera Inc. announced changes to its executive leadership today that affect the company, the province's privately owned electric utility and a Caribbean subsidiary.

Chris Huskilson, president and CEO of Emera Inc. (TSX:EMA), says Rob Bennett has been promoted to the role of executive vice-president and chief operating officer at Emera.

Bob Hanf had been executive chairman of Light & Power Holdings in the Caribbean, but has been appointed president and CEO at Nova Scotia Power.

In the Caribbean, Sarah MacDonald will remain as president and CEO of the Grand Bahama Power Co., but takes on additional responsibilities as president of Emera Caribbean Ltd.

Huskilson says the companies will continue to develop new energy sources and move away from the utility's reliance on imported fuels.

A statement today says Emera expects to invest more than $5 billion in the markets where its companies operate over the next five years.
